CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICER

Miguel Motta

Global strategy, business and operations professional with experience in Fortune 500 and growth-stage companies. Most recently Miguel served as President & CEO for SGB Inc., a venture capital backed company. Prior to SGB, Miguel worked for a Fortune 150 agriculture company and Seminis, global leaders in agriculture, in a variety of US and international executive positions. His experience includes roles as CFO, Head of Marketing, Strategy, M&A and P&L. Miguel has lived in 7 countries, holds an MBA from the Rotterdam School of Management and is fully bilingual in English/Spanish.

FOUNDER, CHIEF DEVELOPMENT OFFICER

Rick Probst

A seasoned executive with experience in finance, technology, manufacturing, and construction. He has successfully created several startups including an internet service provider that was acquired by Penske Media Corp, of which Rick is a former board member. He is the owner of Pro Fab Tech, LLC, a steel and aluminum manufacturing facility, as well as Tow and Grow, Inc., acquired by CTI.

CHIEF STRATEGY OFFICER

Justin S. Beck

Highly regarded in the cannabis industry for advocacy and several successful startups, including a public vaporizer company and Marijuana Index. He is a founding shareholder of MJIC. He leverages industry relationships and a passion for cannabis to develop strategic plans with his management team.

CHIEF SCIENCE OFFICER

Eric J. Mathur

With a career spanning over 35 years in basic and applied biotechnology with focus on translational science, Eric will oversee the cannabis molecular breeding program at CTI. Eric has worked as Chief Science Officer for several companies including Yulex Corporation and SG Biofuels & GreenKiss NY, where he applied modern genomic tools and plant molecular breeding methods to accelerate plant productivity. He is an internationally recognized speaker who authored over 50 peer-reviewed publications and is named inventor on 100+ issued patents.

CHIEF TECHNOLOGY OFFICER

Jeffrey Sherwood

Jeff Sherwood is a technology pioneer and a serial entrepreneur. In 1994 he started the first website company in Los Angeles: InterVerse. He has participated in the design and creation of over 200 websites including the first and second winners of Yahoo’s Cool Site of the Year Award. Jeff was founder and CTO in BIGWORDS.com, a dotcom darling which became the leader in the textbook e-tailing market, with 250 employees and $80M in venture and debt capital. Jeff specializes in strategic planning, technology decision-making, engineering team creation, online marketing, brand building, technology integration and application design.

CHIEF ENGINEER

Michael Burdick

Systems engineer with extensive experience in business development and acquisitions, program, operations, and sales management. Has held C-level positions at several multi-national firms, responsible for divisions or companies with more than $100 million in annual revenues. Michael also serves as President of a global engineering firm.

CHIEF COUNSEL

Rob Bernheimer

Mr. Bernheimer has worked alongside the CTI management team since inception and has served as Chief Counsel since the beginning of 2017. He is a public policy expert and attorney with a proven track record of providing game changing strategies to complex issues. With nearly a decade as a Mayor and City Council member, and over 20 years of experience in representing clients in government, political and legal matters, Mr. Bernheimer has served as the strategic quarterback for Fortune 500 companies, private individuals, public agencies, corporations, and global investment companies in legal, municipal and special district issues across California.

The evolution of CTI’s Board of Directors is nearly complete and now includes: Miguel Motta (Chair); Rick Probst; Bob Kamm; and Robert A. Bernheimer. There is still one vacancy on the board, which is reserved for an independent director.

Bob Kamm

Robert Kamm has worked in diverse corporate settings from early stage venture capital to Fortune 500 companies. Mr. Kamm has over 15 years of experience as an operating CEO/President of Venture backed companies and has served on both Public and Private Company Board of Director’s. Mr. Kamm is active in the San Francisco Bay Area Venture Capital and Angel investing arenas. Mr. Kamm holds an MBA in Finance/Strategy from UCLA Anderson School of Management.

INDEPENDENT DIRECTOR

Irv Einhorn

Mr. Einhorn is regarded as a securities and disclosure expert with more than 40 years experience related to compliance. His SEC career culminated in his appointment as Regional Administrator of the Securities and Exchange Commission’s Los Angeles regional office where he and his team were responsible for implementing the SEC’s regulatory and law enforcement mandates principally in the Western United States. Prior to this appointment, Mr. Einhorn also served as Assistant Chief Trial Attorney with the Division of Enforcement’s Trial Unit in Washington, DC – where he was responsible for litigation of some of the Commission’s most sensitive and complex cases. His expertise traverses SEC enforcement, SEC regulation, SEC compliance, and SEC disclosure requirements. Presently of counsel to Freeman, Mathis & Gary in Los Angeles, he has served as an expert witness in a number of securities cases.
